There is a great post over here about the fire that destroyed the haunted castle at Six Flags Great Adventure here in New Jersey.

I grew up in Pittsburgh, so I never got the chance to see this. It seems to me that since this era Six Flags has never recovered. The park is not generally the most pleasant place to visit. I keep hoping for some great immersive experience to surface, but as of now it’s just a metal theme park with 1/3 of the park shut off to the public and the rides and shows in that section shrouded and decaying. We can keep hoping.
