You guys might know by now from my reviews and coverage that Busch Garden’s Tampa’s Howl O Scream is one of my favorite events in the world. I’m really looking forward to going this year because I think that they are going to pull out all of the stops this year. It’s true that this year they are being super selective with who hey hire to work on the event – only going for the best of the best so that they brutalize everyone who goes through. I like this!
I also know a thing or 2 about the theme and what’s going on with one of the main attractions that makes me confident that this is going to be the best one yet. I have a day counter on my phone counting down the days until this.
But…I have to admit that I’m not sure what they are doing with their marketing campaign this year. They are slowly revealing “The 13” over the course of several weeks. This means that they are releasing the identity of about 2 each week with short video clips.
It’s just not holding my attention. It’s great for Twitter, but as far as having any meat so that I can really blog anything about it – I don’t know what to say, guys. I do know this is going to be amazingkikass, but…
Much like the year my older brother decided to hide my Christmas gifts around the house like if it were Easter and dragged that on until March…I think they need to reveal it faster. The payoff of a quick video clip to me is not worth hanging around for. I’ll just collect it up when it’s all done and blog about it. If I didn’t do that my blog would literally be overrun with micro posts about these clips. There isn’t really a story beyond the revealing of the identities and the voting on their Facebook page to hold this together for me.
Oh yeah, voting – they are doing some really awesome polls with their fans on their Facebook page. I highly suggest that you click over to there if you are a haunt fan. This kind of interaction is really awesome. I just wish that there was a bit more on the world building side of it this year at this point.

They also have at least 2 new Houses announced – Death Water Bayou and The Basement. Circus of Superstition, an excellent 3D house (read my review of Circus of Superstition here) is returning.
I can’t wait to review this one this year. I think that it really will be the best ever. I plan to do literally every attraction they have at least once. Maybe more. These guys do innovate and set the bar and passion for haunting higher than most! I just would like more story and more details, like in 2010 where they impressed me by having their icon, Sylvie do interviews in character.
