Postby HelloGamers » Thu Jan 07, 2010 1:08 pm

Code for the gallery
<pixgallery path="/wp-content/uploads/awsompixgallery/"></pixgallery>

I mess around with it alot and google the error, I have try all the method
change wp-content/uploads/cache to wp-content/uploads/cache/
made all folder 777mod
even mess around with the path, remove " " from the pixgallery code

everything seem to not work.

Error: Path does not exist [/wp-content/uploads/awsompixgallery/>/]!

however I notice />/ at the end, I use html editor to add and save the code
I manage to get rid of it at one point but it tell didn't work.

I turn on Debug and log in my admin, the debug code won't show up for me.
The error path is all i see.

Hi,
I tried looking at the folder locations on your site and they appeared to not be there. From what you say though there is an uploads folder and there is a cache folder and the awsompixgallery folder. Very weird. The error you are getting is not related to the cache though, it's basically saying there isn't a folder at the location you're telling it. Try removing the forward slash / at the start of the pixgallery code.

Can you give a list of example image files you have and exactly where they're located on your server. (so essentially a direct link to the images you want to display in your gallery.)

Hmmm, there seems to be something weird going on with your server. Do you have any special directory protections turned on? If you go to the main folder location it returns a 404 error--which is really weird. Obviously the folder is there since the image path will display the image, which is within that folder that gives a 404. The only thing I can think is there's a setting on your server that is "protecting" that folder and preventing the plugin from scanning it to find the images--and also preventing a web user from seeing the folder itself as well. Is it possible that the "owner" of the folder is different than the web files? If possible can you see if the files all have this set to the same? (not permissions, but the file owner, this is something different and can usually be seen in an SFTP/FTP program when viewing the files on the server)

Did you guys figure out what was going on here? I have the exact same problem, same error message. (Mr. Harknell, I emailed you today about this as well...)
Initial problem was that when I activated the plugin, it did not create the awsompixgallery or cache folder in the uploads folder, so I created those, and made sure the cache was 777. If you type in the exact location of the image, the image shows up, but if you go to the folder where the image is, a 404 page shows up. I tried removing the forward slash on the code on the page....would love to figure this out, because this is the best portfolio plugin out there. Totally worked on my local system when I was designing the site!
Please help!
Karin

oh and I checked the owner status of the files - they all say "owner" as the owner.

This issue unfortunately looks to be based on folder protections being turned on. Or something of that nature. Godaddy seems to be a particular suspect for this. Unfortunately it totally screws up folder scanning for the plugin so it looks like a dead end unless you can get them to turn this off (which is unlikely).
